Special Childrens Christmas Party

On Sunday after church we headed to the Special Children's Christmas Party. This is an event that is put on by a collection of business to give children with disabilities and those who are experiencing hardship a chance to have some extra Christmas cheer. They usually take it in turns rotating the venue between Hobart DEC and the Launceston Silverdome. this year it was held in launceston. The day is entirely free to those who have got a ticket and there is food, entertainment as well as presents for the children. This year we somehow missed out on Charlotte getting a ticket however after a chat with one of the volunteers she sorted it out and Charlotte got to get a present as well, it's not like we were putting on her disbaility! Amelia enjoyed her day as she got to eat Pizza, Sausages, party pies, cocktail sausages, popcorn, ice cream and icepoles! She really enjoyed the snakes that were on display and she wanted to keep going back to see them, I must say that I was not as keen as she was!

The highlight for Ryan was having his photo taken with Ronald, I can't understand how he was happy to have his photo taken with Ronalds but he absolutely hates clowns, go figure!

Amelia also enjoyed meeting Santa as we have not been to see him this year yet, I am thinking we might go this weeken and have a photo taken. I was a bit worried with how William would take him but he seemed fine when he took the lolly bag from him so fingers crossed that we have good photos without a screaming 2 year old!

I would also like to say how much we really appreciate the time that the people who vlounteered put in, as they donated their time to help serve and make the day enjoyable to all those who attended. Ryan actually was on the afternoon ABC program today with Eillen Harris, as he wanted to ring in and say how grateful he was to everyone who helped out as well as to the business who donated money and food etc. As a result they gave him a prize of 2 dvds for the kids, he will be popular Daddy tonight!
