Cup Cake pops

Ok so since getting my book from Bakerella I have been loving the idea of trying different cake pops, this time cup cake ones!

Melted chocolate put into a chocolate mold and made so that it coats all sides, add a cake pop into the middle and let it set. Once set melt some white chocolate and colour with oil based colouring. Dip the cake pop into the melted chocolate and let the drips drip into the ball when the drips have stopped sprinkle 100s and 1000s onto the ball and add a mini M & M to the top. Allow to set.

So easy to make and so cute for kiddies lunches.

Oh and yes I had some free cake balls left so made a few regular cake pops!

Pre Kinder!!!!!!

My baby started pre kinder today! It is so sad to think that he is going to start school next year and that I will be left alone for two full days! As much as I always say it will be great a little part of me also thinks how sad I will be not to have a little person to talk with as I go about doing the things I do during the day. Hmm will have to see if I can pick up some more work at the gym so I am not so lonely OR find a new hobby!

Anyway here is some snaps of the not so young boy growing up at school today!

Painting was fun!

Hmm play doh

 Making a necklace.

After pre kinder Will had fun in the playground, he even got to play with some of the kids as it was recess time so he ran around while I sat and froze.

He had such a great time and is looking forward to going back in two weeks!

LOTS and LOTS of cooking going on!

Well I have been asked to make cup cakes for a wedding coming up so I have been busy making batches of chocolate and vanilla cupcakes to store in the freezer until the day before so I can just whip them out and do the decorations. The plan is to make milk chocolate and white chocolate gnache, which I can't do till Friday so that it can be fresh to go on! I found that Birchalls had the best range and most affordable cupcake cases and they kept their shape really well. I also used some Donna Hay ones that Mum brought me back from Sydney when she went earlier in the year. LOVE DONNA!

Ok so the chocolate mix looks pretty good! This is the same mix I make when I do my big choc cakes. I actually doubled the mix, which I will not do in future as the bowl was way too small to be able to mix it all together easily! This was taken half way through!

LOVE the affordable cup cake cases from birchalls for only $3.50!

Decided to do the vanilla one's in the Donna cases, they looked pretty good!

Hmm not a cupcake BUT a cake! I have made this to make some more cake pops, this time I made cup cake one! I actually forgot to take a picture before they were all eaten, or Ryan took most of them to work!
Will do photos next time, which will be today as I have some to make.

Love Donna Hay, just wish I could buy the liners online somewhere, checked ebay and nothing and her shop only sells cook books online! Will have to get some in Jan when we go to Melbourne.

I ended up freezing 4 dozen cup cakes and had another 12 left to eat for the kids and for Ryan to take to work. I also crumbled up some of the chocolate ones to make more cake pops with!

Spring Trip to the Gorge

William and I have enjoyed spending some time out and about, although as I type up this post I am not sure if   we are in spring or not as it has been soooo cold! Any way we took a trip to the Gorge to enjoy the surroundings and to take a mini photo shoot! These are not edited but I will get to them sometime, usually when I do my digi scrapping!

Such a good little model!

Listening to the waves rushing down!

After we stopped at the bakery for a monkey face! One of Williams favs, always want one when we stop at the chemist or newsagent.

Family Home Evening

A few weeks ago as a treat we decided to take the family shopping for Family Home Evening and get all the things we would need to make ice cream sundaes! Nothing was spared in this shopping trip, the ice cream (of course), the topping, whipped cream, nuts, marshmallows, choc top topping and banana.

Amelia was our designated trolley driver for the night and she did a great job!

This was a random photos that I took after shopping and the way she moved and the light caused this pretty cool effect!

Charlotte was very chatty in her night out!

It did get a bit too much for Will! It was over nothing really but he had a melt down getting into the car at the shops!

But look how quick ice cream sundae can fix the mood!

Yum Amelia!

Highlight for the kids was getting to spray the whipped cream into their mouths!

We ALL love family home evening, or at least most of the time! Especially when it involves yummy food!

Cake Pops

Ok so I love cake pops and have ordered the book, which I am waiting on still. But in the mean time I thought I would make a basic batch and see how they would turn out thanks to watching the easy video on the basics of cake pops I know where I went wrong the first time I made them! When dipping in the chocolate don't move them around just dip and move as less as possible! Also add the frosting a little at a time as too much makes the mixture too wet and messy to roll and harder to set. So if your interested head over to the bakerella site and check out how to make them!  Click on the above video link to view the release clip for the basics!

Our past week, in photos!

Some snaps from our trip to Longford yesterday, was very overcast and very muddy under foot but still William had a great time!

Earlier in the week we enjoyed the day and went to a park on High Street, which Will had heaps of fun at, he is such a social young man and was excited to play with another child, however when the other child's mum said that he was leaving Will had a major melt down and requested to go and play with the friend that he was going to visit. I am such a boring mum that he is trying to invite himself to others places to get out and play!

Last Saturday Will went to his friend Gabbie's birthday party. The venue was going to be Punchbowl BUT after the forecast of wet wet and wet Kell decided to hire a hall out in Legana. Will had a great time was rushing around like ant's in his pants and he has was a very social boy hanging out with anyone and everyone.

Yes still here!

We have been in phone tag with Telstra for the past 6 weeks to try and sort out changing our current plan and bring our phone, internet across to have it all together BUT as I said it has taken 6 weeks and we have no internet (or at least fast internet ) until they reconnect us!!!!!! Who know when that might be! So I will have to keep all the photos I want to blog until the speed is quicker and not dial up which is currently doing my head in!!!!!

Anyways school holidays are here and we have been in and out and around visiting a few parks in and around Launceston and Longford which is where we went today. My fingers are crossed that the weather is on the pick up from the recent rains we have been having and that we can start to enjoy the joy of Spring. Must say it was cute today with Will in the back of the car all emotional cause he wanted to take a baby lamb home and give it a hug. I might have said something about how cute they were and how I just wanted to give a little spring lamb a big squeeze which really set him off tears and all!!!!!!

Any ways stay tune for some more posts soon, with photos!

(Just tried to upload some but dial up is a killer)!

Must say I am just a little excited on a purchase I have just made! For a while I have been a keen follower of a site Bakerella  Angie at Bakerella makes the most amazing creations and one of her best are cake pops! She has just launched a book, her first ever, and it is available to purchase at Amazon. I ordered my copy last night and am eagerly awaiting the arrival some time in the next few weeks!
