Spring Gardening and BBQs

Ok so our family does not have the best track record of keeping plants alive, I actually think we kill them with kindness! I can dream can't I! Any way we have bitten the bullet and have collected a few pots as well as Ryan building a few pots and we have currently got a little garden going on. Now don't get me wrong the house we are renting is great as the plants are self surviving BUT we wanted to try and grow a few herbs, vegies and fruit. Currently we are growing some tomatoes ( I was a little keen for planting when sow day came around) we also have a selection of herbs including basil and rosemary two of my favourites. Ryan has got him self an olive tree and a mandarin tree. I brought some spring onions which were looking a bit worse for ware but they have come back pretty well thankfully! We thought for some fun and to get the kids excited we would grow some sunflowers which have taken off really well. The only draw back was after a few days of great progression we realised we had some neighbours with gourmet tastes and they started to eat Ryan's chilli plants and garlic and beans! So we have now made cages to go over them, looks pretty funny at the moment as each pot has it's own wire fence around it, almost like a prison for plants!

So after a busy day in the garden with the weather being so kind we decided to crank up the BBQ and get in practice for the kind of summer we are planning to have this year, one with many BBQ's and time to sit outside and enjoy the sun, while looking at out little garden!
