Well we have had a very interesting Sunday! It all started when after staying up till 1am on Sunday morning finshing off some things for the two lessons I was teaching that I decided that in the mornig I would take myself out for a nice gently bike ride to help clear my head so I could teach with a clear mind. Well after telling Ryan of my mapped out trip I jumped on the bike and began my ride! I was riding for about 4 minutes when I was coasting down one of the many hills that surround Trevallyn so I could get onto the flat and as I was going down my wheel got caught in a lovely small long pothole type thing and deecided that it couldn't cope so it lost control and launched me hea over the handle bars to land with a great big splat in the middle of the road!!!!!!! Well I must say that I havea tough head cause I was able to pick myself up (no I didn't go out cold) and move my self into a clearning on the side of the road and somehow I managed to fumble with the phone and ring Ryan to say that he had better come and get me as I had had a slight accident. After talking to him on the phone I noticed that I had some large drops of blood coming from my head and after waiting for about 5 or so minutes I than started to feel some pain in my arm and a little in my leg.
When Ryan and the kids came to get me I thought that I would be good to go home and have a lovely warm shower and clean myself up as my head had pretty much stopped bleeding but Ryan took one look at me and said 'Bugger your gonna need to go to the emergency and have some stitches in that as you have split your head open!!!!!". Well that was it for me and I started to see black, Ryan got to me and put me in the car and drove me to the LGH where he went in and told them that I had passed out and they got me a wheel chair, which I thought was a bit over kill! Any ways after checking I was legit and who I said I was I got taken straight into the treatmetn area so they could monitor me as I had suffered a head injury. So their began our sit and weight. Kirk and Amy came to take to kids so Ryan could stay with me and then later on in the day they took Will to church and we had the girls with us at the hosptial. They xrayed my arm and collar bone but said nothing was broken, which I knew anyway but said that I had done some muscle damage. They then looked at my head and said that I would need 3 stitches. So after waiting for almost 4 hours everything happened in one hit the x ray then about 25 minutes later I had the Dr popping a needle into my head and stitching me up! I must say that it was not as painful as I thought it would be and I hardly even felt a thing. The then put a big chucnk and ugly bandage on my head which I think is a bit sad as no one can see the lovely stitching work that the Dr did! After finishing up the stitches I than got to have another lovely needle for tetnus, as I had fallen on the road they thought it would be better to be safe as I couldn't remember the last time I had a tetnus. After the shot and I was given a dose of tablets to bring home to treat any infection they let me out of the place.
I must say that I looked like a real mess when I now look at the pictures, what is going on with the hair! The worse thing is that I can not even wash or do my hair as I can not lift my left arm up it is just too painful. Last night after having a lovely bath, and having to get Ryan to help me dress we thought we would see how far I could puch myself to move my arm up! I managed to get it all the way up, but the pain was really bad that I almost passed out. This morning Ryan asked me not to lift my arms too high as he didn't want me to have a repeat of last night.
So I am now sitting here writing on the blog, sitting in my PJ's and feeling very sad that I can't go for a run or the gym! Not sure when I will get back just waiting fot the arm to get better. The Dr has given Ryan up till Thursday off as I am not able to drive or lift the kids and I am hoping that by Thursday I can as I have to puch Lottie up the drive way and then lift her up the stairs when she gets home form school. If I keep taking panadol and Neurofen I am hoping that I will get right!

Well I am doing much better from Sunday. Arm is still a little sore but I am, not on any drugs now which is good, I think they were making me feel worse, especially the neurofen!
oh no, this is terrible! you were wearing a bike helmet i am sure (hope) - imagine how much worse it could have been. i see people riding without helmets and am just amazed, so silly. i ride my bike to and from work on some pretty busy roads - i have to keep super aware of the cars - i have had some close calls. hope you get better soon!
