Family

We had Nan's funeral yesterday and it was a sad and happy time. Sad as we had to say our goodbyes but happy as we can remember her life and the joys that she gave to each and everyone of us. Roz gave a wonderful Eulogy and it captured so much of the joy that she gave to us all. I read a poem titled 'Poem of Life' by an Unkown author. We had the celebrant do a great job as well as a montage which we put together with some photos of nan's life. It was nice to catch up with people that had known Nan and to hear how much joy she had given to their lives as well. We all went back to Roz's pace for afternoon tea where we had a natter and enjoyed some great food. Mum's neighbour Leonie does catering and she kindly made up for us quiches, sammies, and some yummy little jelly cakes.
These are just one of the many beautiful flowers that the family have received. Nan loved her pink's and purples when it came to flowers.
This is Pa and his brother Rex having a great chat. Rex and his wife flew over from Queensland to be with the family.
Mum and Betty, Betty is Rex's wife, which is Pa's brother and she is also Nanna's cousin. Talk about a mix in the family!
Poem of Life

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord
