Well 12 years ago today it was not this hot and I remeber it well as it was the day that our Little Amelia entered the world!

Yes my baby is growing up and it is scary, especially scary when you get a letter advising you about a teen dental plan????? Hello who decided that 12 was a teenager already! I was waiting to at least she turned 13?

Well we woke this morning and have done the usual thing of opening presents, which she always loves. This morning we took our time getting ready and then I took her and Zoe (who si staying with us for a few days) to the movies to see Hotel for Dogs. It was great as the cinema had wonderful air con I was thinking maybe we should just stay and watch more movies today to keep cool! After the movies we went to Maccas for lunch, again an air con place and then we are home trying to survive the 38 degree heat. Tonight we are having a BBQ tea and cake and then we might go out somewhere that has air con, like the supermarket to cool down!
Some cool presents to open, including groovy Elmo undies!
Yum Yum Yum Maccas for lunch!

Australia Day Weekend Camping

Over the Australia day weekend our family and the Crossin family went camping in Ulverstone. We travelled up on the Sat and set the tent up. We chilled out did some shopping and played in the playground that was at the campsite.
Sunday we went to Devenport Ward for church and then in the afternoon we went for a drive to Burnie where we went on a walk and visited the playground. It was a blast as the kids and adults all had a great time on the play equipment!
Sunday night we ate dinner the just sat around and talked. Monday on Austrlia day Alyssa and Arron and their family joined us and we went to the park in Ulverstone for a BBQ and a swim. In the afternoon we went back to our camp site and sat around and played some games. It was such a great time away and it was fun camping with the Crossin family. Ryan was just excited to finally get to use our new 16 person tent, and let e tell you it was HUGE! We had our mattress in one section the middle section was for the food and the DVD and then teh other end section was for the kids. We just had so much room it was great! We are already planning our next trip and we are looking forward to it. The only down side to this trip was the site, it was right next to the trainline and a train went through very early in the morning! I managed to wake up but the kids slept right through it! I was very tired last night as I had trouble getting back to sleep once I was awake.
William had a bath in a bucket on the table, and he LOVED it!
This was one of the reasons as to why WIlliam needed to have a bath, he was just a magnet to being grotty!
Mac having a fun time on the rides at the park!
Abbey and Will chilling out
William steering the train.
The walk we went on was a place that has platupus' but we didn't see any just this stone one!

I am sure that he is a nature expert, at least the hat makes him look like one.
Just chillin!
Charlotte was not very happy while we were away, this is one of teh rare times that she was sitting and wasn't miserable. Not sure what was wrong with her.

A sore paw!

Charlotte has not been too good of late. She has been very touchy whenever she has been touched and we were a little worried that she may have hurt her leg or foot as she was mainly upset when it was touched the most. On Wednesday night she was worse than she had every been and when Ryan and I were doing Personal Training with Jodie she was very miserable. Ryan and I thought that it would be a good idea to take her to the emergency and get them to check her, seeing she can not tell us herself exactly what is wrong we thought they could at least do xrays and check that nothing was broken as she also had a swollen ankle.

Ryan took her in and I stayed at home with Amelia and William. The poor things had to wait in the emergency waiting room for 4 hours even before they were seen! I asked Ryan if there were lots of people there and he said that it was a little busy. The worse thing for him was that a few guys came in with gastro and they were chucking into buckets in the waiting room!!!! I told Ryan that I was glad it was him and not me cause I would have had to leave ( I am not very good when peopel are puking around me!) He also said another person came in and was throwing themself on the floor and talking about themselves as if they were the third person, he said he wasn't too worried (mind you he has seen this type of stuff before when he use to do security in the Royal Hobart Hospital) he did say that a few people that had families waiting were a little worried!

So after waiting all that time, with lots of entertainment! He finally got into a cubicle where he waited another hour before he was able to take Charlotte in to have an xray. He then waited 15 minutes before the Dr came back and said nothing broken but that Charlotte's ankle was sprained. So after he put a crepe bandage on it they were ok to leave!

So due to the hour he decided that it may be better to stay home and sleep yesterday as he didn't have much sleep after being up most of the night at the hospital.

We took Charlotte to our GP for a look see yesterday and she was concerned about the crepe bandage the Dr in the Emergency had put on her so she suggested something a little firmer, which makes sense.

Poor Charlotte didn't get much sleep so she was allowed to have a sleep in.

The sore paw!

Cupcakes!

Well I had another order for some of my cupcakes the other day. The order was for 12 but the mixture made up 38 so I sent the extra ones with Ryan to work and sold almost all of them! They are very popular and they taste really yummy! They are gluten free and are a fudgy dense chocolate cupcake with buttercream frosting.
This was just one box I had packaged up!

Toddler Sleeping

William is going through a thing at the moment that he doesn't always want to go to bed. At night he has been staying up rather late as he will screem flat out if we put him to bed when HE doesn't want to go. Last night I left him for 30 minutes and still no rest! Today I have asked him a few times do you want to go to bed and I have even picked him up and he screems blue murder at me and says NO! As you can see from the pics he really did want to go to bed but he was just being stubborn and flaked it while watching ABC2. Oh the joys of having a toddler!

It's all about the HAIR!

Well today it has been so hot and the kids and I have felt like doing nothing much. Ths morning Amelia had a sleep in and then a lazy morning, finally getting into the shower at 10am. After the shower I promised her that we would set her hair in the velcro rollers. After letting it dry naturally for a little while it was just damp enough to put the rollers into. She sat very well and let me put them in with no complaint, I just wish when I brushed her hair she would be better as she always cracks it with me! So she sat and even left the rollers in for a while. She looks so grown up, I can't beleive that she is turning 12 in a few weeks!!!!!! It is so scary.

William also had fun playing with the rollers, although he didn't want to leave them in.
This spider has decided to leave a huge web outside our back door. I was trying to get close enough to see if it had a red back or not as I couldn't see very well as it was too high. I keep checking back and it keeps moving sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not! I must say that when it is not there I do worry a little!

Young Women Activity

Last night we had the Young Women over at our place for a BBQ. It was agreat night as the weather was beautiful. I had the girls help make the burgers and we had three types, beef, chicken and chickpea. We also had chicken sausages. We had a bit too much food, but I reckon better to have too much than not enough and as a result we will be having left over BBQ food for the next few nights! William was loving having the girls over as he was running around giving them heaps of cuddles all night. He even started to show off by throwing himself onto the pillows in the lounge room, he also had joy in throwing himself at the Young Women all night. I reckon tha Ryan was teaching him early how to try and pick up chicks!

Family Tent Night

On Monday night we decided to have Family Home Evening at the Chappel and help teach the kids how we put up the tent, was also a good excuse for us to refresh our skills as well as it has been ages since we went camping. We are planning on going away on Australia Day weekend with the Crossin family to Ulverstone, which should be fun!

Charlotte was our supervisor for the night, she had a bit to say about our rough job we did!

Amelia was the Paparazzi on the evening! She was using her new camera that she got for Christmas. She got a bit cranky as the memory card was full so she couldn't take as many pictures that she wanted to take.

The tent is a 16 person tent, I knew it was going to be big, but I didn't realise that it was going to be THAT BIG! At least we will have heaps of room to move about in it and store all our stuff.

Ryan feeling proud that we managed to get the tent up!

Travelling home Sunday Night!

Yesterday after Church we travelled up to Port Sorell to pick Amelia up from the Crossin's. We had tea with them and then sat around and played a game (not sure what it was called) but you worked in teams and you had to either do charades, explain what something was or act out what was on the card. It was heaps of fun and my team which consisted of Coral, Zoe and Amelia kicked butt! Poor Ryan and Rob were put together and they really struggled it took them ages to get off go and then it took even longer to get past the first part of drawing! Amelia had heaps of fun over the time she spent with the Crossin's and they spoilt her big time. Thanks for looking after her guys we really appreciate when you guys spend time with her and I know that she LOVES all of you so much. It was funny on the way home as she got really emotional. It was a mixture of over tired and that she loved you guys so much she didn't want to come home. William was trying to escape his carseat and wanted cuddles, I reckon that he was freaking about the fact that Amelia was coming home and he would no longer have free range over the TV any more!
It was also a little sad as Francesca, who is the exchange student that has been staying with the Crossin family for a little while now is due to fly back home to Italy very soon and it was the last time that we would see her before she went. As we were leaving Coral saw my red high heels that I scored at an op shop for $5 and showed them to Francesca as Francesca loves red, a women who shares my love of red! Coral mentioned that she had tried a pair of red high heels on last week but they didn't have her size, so after a little thought I gave her my shoes, I must say that it was a tear moment for me as I LOVED those red shoes, but I thought that she would also be able to enjoy wearing them just as much. So now I am on the look out for another pair. We hope that Francesca has enjoyed her stay in Tassie and we hope that she comes back to visit some time once she gets home!
It was a pretty night to travel last night, the sky was lovely. The moon was relaly big and very low last night I did try to get a picture but they all turned out blury:(

It's all about Will!

William has had a rather intersting few days, you see he has had almost free range to do what ever he likes as Amelia has been away staying with the Crossin family. As a result he has been able to watch the Wiggles as much as he wants. On Saturday he even got to go out with Dad in the ute to the tip, something that he always misses out on as AMelia is around. Other things he has had fun doing is using his new Christmas present from Aunty Roz and family his mega sketch, running on the treadmill (however it was stationary), helping Dad put speakers in his ute and just chilling out watching the Wiggles!

Uncle Kirk!

Yesterday Kirk and Amy dropped by so Kirk could get a haircut. Once we had finished Amy and I were having a chat and Kirk was playing with William. The next thing we knew Kirk and William were quiet so we went to see where they were, and you will never guess? They were in William's cot! I must say it was really funny, even when Amy was cross at Kirk cause she was worried that his weight may break it. All I could do was laugh and think about getting a picture to blog. Oh Kirk I can't wait for you guys to start having kids they will have so much fun, just like our's do when you guys come and visit!

Painting!

Apart from the wind the weather has not been too bad. Yesterday the kids and I got outside and in the fresh air to enjoy doing some painting, the first time in a while as we have either been too busy or it has been not the right weather. We all had a great time and I even managed to get painted! William loved playing in the big bucket of water that I had brought out so I could clean him up after we had finished, however he decided that it would be a great place to wash his brush.

The kids thought that I needed to be a little brighter, so they decided to paint me!

William wanting to be a punk with blue hair!

Concentrating very hard on his art work.

Amelia doing her master piece!

William loved the colour blue,
William is not the best of sleepers at night and more often than not he is usually in our bed! I also get kicked out to the sofa and the running joke in our house is the phrase 'Is your bed made up?' Meaning do I have the doonah and pillow on the couch for when I am kicked out to it!

The last few days William has been teething, and as a result is a bit more clingy than usual. Early the other morning I was out in MY sofa bed when William decided that he wanted to come out and sleep there with me as well, as a result Ryan took the following photo. The funny thing that happened when William woke up from the couch was that he rolled off the couch and asked for the Wiggles to watch on the TV! He is Wiggles mad!

NYE and Day

Well it seems such a long time ago but this is the first time I have had a few minutes to actually blog! On NYE we had Ryan's parents and the Crossins as well as my mum up for a BBQ. We just wanted to enjoy our new Christmas present that being the BBQ! We had a great night as we talked, ate, did Singstar, watched teh fireworks from our loungeroom window that were on at Aurora staduim and had our own fireworks display thanks to the crossin family who got some that we didn't need a permit for. It was a fun night and a raher late night, and some enjoyed a sleep in the next day. When we all got ourselves out of bed we cranked teh BBQ up again and had bacon and eggs for breakfast, at least some of them did! After a slow morning the Crossin family and Ryan's parents left around lunch time. Once they had gone we just pottered around cleaned had lunch then later in the afternoon went to the park to feed the ducks. On the way home we had ice creams from Maccas which was yummy as it was a rather warmish day on new years day.
The kids loved playing in their new tent castle and it was great as it kept them out of the sun.

The girls and Will enjoyed getting dressed in the glow sticks!

This was just one of the fireworks display that we had in our backyard.

Watchout for the fire mad boys! These guys were fireworks mad. They even got tricky and tried to set off a chain of fireworks all at once. they also had some fizzers as well! But it was all good fun.

Peek a boo I see you Amelia and Will!

Amelia loves the new castle that they gor for Christmas, she uses it to meditate.
Will enjoyed his lunch in the castle.

Where is everyone?

What a great day out to feed the ducks.

Mr Climber is getting so confident on the equipement at the park these days, there is no stopping him!

Amelia had so much fun feeding the ducks, she loves everything about animals, except the creepy crawly spiders type.

The boys enyoying the firepot on NYE!

I am so excited when I got my new Kenwood Machine as it came with a mincer attachment for FREE! It is soo good as I can make my yummy chicken burgers now and make my own mince so I know what goes inside them.
The very full ducks after the kids fed them on New years day!
Charlotte enjoying the sunshine at the punchbowl

Lets go horsey!

Way too cool!

What an innocent face! How not true is that statement!
Amelia and Will like to get up to trouble when together, wonder what they are going to do next!
