I found these on the web and thought that they were funny so decided to share!

Kids Cup Photos

Well as I blogged a few weeks ago we took the kids into the Launceston Kids Cup race and William and Amelia ran 800m. Well today I was checking on the web to see if the photos taken from the day were avaliable to purchase and after searcing through what seemed like 1000's I finally found the ones with Will and Amelia! Now I am not sure which one I should order! Any ideas?

Take the Cake

Well that's the name of my business that I have started making cakes. On Saturday we had our Ward Conference pot luck and Ryan dobbed me in to make one of my chocolate cakes. So I took the opportunity to try a new style. Still round but this time instead of chocolate shaved on top I put stars on wire as something different. It worked really well and I am pleased to say that I have added this to my now avaliable to purchase list of items that can be brought! I will have to put up a selection of things that I am selling with a proce list for those who may be interested! but that will come at another date.

Funny Faces

Again I am slack with blogging and have to do them all in the one day!!!!! Ryan made this great plate of food for Miss Amelia the other day and it kept both her and Will amused. I must say that Ryan is a very creative kid!!!!!

Family Home Evening

Every Monday night we have a night set aside for a family night. It is the one night that we have that nothing else is booked into, no meetings, no gym classes, no parties etc. Tonight we had a great time as we hired some toys from the Playgroup toy library and one of the things we got were a bag of hand puppets. Ryan and I started off behind the couch with them and put on a show for the kid, they loved it and wanted to do one of their own. Amelia and Will did a great job with the puppets and had them kissing, hitting each other and giving hi 5's.
Usually the kids have so much fun during family home evenig that when we have to end our night the kids get really upset and have huge taddies! I thought that tonight to help maybe eleviate this problem of packing up from something fun we would pack up and look forward to a special treat of icecream cone cupcakes! This is something I have wanted to have a go at for a while and I finaly have run out of cupcakes for school lunches from the freezer so decided to cook some up this afternoon. The mix was really easy and I added my trusty lemon zest which makes them fantastic. After sampling one tonight Ryan and I have both agreed that I am making them againg and this time we will put a lemon curd piped into the middle.

Kids Cup Fun Run and a Walk

Well today we had the kids registered in the Launceston Kids Cup that was held where they race the horses in Mowbray. We were not sure if we wouold actually go as it had moments of pouring rain this morning. We did some shopping in Mowbray and the weather had actually picked up a bit so we decided to head over to let the kids have a run. The first race was at 1.30 and it was the under 8's race which was William's race. We asked if it would be alright for Amelia to run in the race with him as well as we didn't hink that she would cope with the race that she was registered in. The under 8's were running a 800m race which was plenty long enough both for Will and Amelia. We walked out on to the track and lined up for the start. The starter got us ready and then told us the way we needed to run, then he said 'On your marks get set GO!'
Well Will didn't need any encouragment he was of and running. He actually ran the whole way up to the markers and back again, the only problem we had was that he didn't want to stop and turn around he wanted to keep running around the track! Amelia had a slight hissy fit in the middle of the track, whic was a bit embasasing as she stopped and refused to continue and chuced a wobbly at me. After a few stern words from me and a pull along she started to walk. We managed to FINISH the race coming last, BUT I just wanted to let the kids get out and have a go and be around other kids and try to keep them fit. .00

Ryan stayed with Charlotte watching the race and told me that when I got back some woman had a BIG hissy fit that Amelia was in the race of the under 8's. Mind you she was not actually coming first or remotely near to winning the race she was just happy to hang out and walk with Will and I. Ryan just stood back and let her have a BIG winge, it was really good that the person who was organising actually came over and mentioned to the wingy woman that the 12 year old that was in teh race was actually disabled and that she was coming last so what was the problem. Ryan said it was funny watching her face after she realised that she had made a BIG goose of herself and she quickly walked away. Her beef was that her daughter had turned 9 a week before the dates that were set for the competition and that she thought that it was unfair thet her daughter was not able to race in the under 8's race. I said to Ryan that it is really sad that some parents are so competitive that they have to make a goose of themselves to try and make their child look better. So all in al we had a great day, the kids each got a show bag with a drink bottle and a sticker from Launceston Sport and Surf that were part of the sponsors of the race. We decided not to hang around as we had to get and do other things, plus William was a little over it and wanted to continue running around like a feral child!

Charlotte's Assembly

Today William and I went to visit Charlotte at her school as they had an assembly that parents were invitied to. Charlotte's class has been looking and reading all about the Very Hungry Caterpillar, a classic book that I am sure that MANY of us have had read to us while we were at school. For their show time in the assembly they all showed their painted butterflies. Charlotte looks very alert in showing us all her butterfly!
Charlotte also got a certificate today in her class as she has been doing really well with her sitting on the bouncing peanut at school. She has started to try and give herself a little bounce which is really great. We have noticed that Charlotte has this year been making lots of little changes, I asked Dr Bailey a few weeks ago why he thought that might be and he thinkgs it could be related to the fact that Charlotte has not been having regular seizures. I cros my fingers that we can continue with not having them and just the random as we have realy enjoyed the little changes we have been seeing in Charlotte, she is much more responsive to others around her.

Certificate Sunday

Well today in Sacrament Amelia received her certificate for completing Primary. She managed to get what she was capable of completing marked off for her Faith in God book which was a fair bit as we worked really hard with her and encouraging her to get things done. Today Bishop called the three new beehives Amelia, Phebe and Lizzie up to get certificates as they all had completed their Faith in God and therefore were able to get their Certificate of Advancement. I knew that Amelia would not go up by hersself as she gets very shy BUT I thought that she would go with me, well wasn't I wrong I had to go up and get it for her. One day I hope that she will get over being so shy, fingers crossed.

Circus Quircus

On Saturday we were lucky to get some free tickets through Amelia's school to see Circus Quircus. The Lions club every year raise money for the community and one of the things they like to do is to bring Circu Quircus to town. The fundraising efforts were amazing this year and they were able to put on two shows. We went to the 12 noon one and as like last year the performace was fantastic! Christoff was the rather funny clown that kept the kids laughing with his funny tricks and funny voice. The also had some girls that were doing acrobats and balancing on hoop suspended in the air, an they had some guys called Zimboys that really fast moving. They also did some great balancing things, including one guy who was balancing on 4 chairs ontop of a table. Amelia loved this act as they did lots of whislting and she was trying to whistle as well. I aso really enjoyed the act of a girl dressed as a strawaberry and a guy dressed as bug that were balancing and he was throwing her up in the air and doing all sorts of balancing things.
Thanks to all the business' who supported the Rotary Club if it wasn't for them donating money we would not have been able to go.

Wiered for Sound

Well the lastest craze in our home at the moment is listening to mp3 players! Amelia started it off by using Ryan's old one and then William wanted to get in on the action as well. On Saturday Ryan brought them each a set of headphones as we had a cheapie mp3 we had from ages ago and we gave it to Will. The problem with the little headphones is that Will's ears are too smal to keep them in so we had to resort to using the big ones that Ryan reckons give a great sound. I just love these photos of him! It is so funny as he is listening to th Wiggles how cool is he!
We know Amelia is growing up as she is 12 and we know that the teenage years are starting BUT we have noticed more of late that her behaviour is that of others her own age. Just some of the things she has started to do really make us crack up. Here she is posing for the camera.
