January Happenings

Well a bit has been happening over the past few weeks, Charlotte is slowly getting over her chickenpox, she just has some marks left on but hopefully they will fade over time! We had the Crossin girls come and visit for a few days and had a great time playing the wii and swimming at the pool. I was working for two of the days which made it hard to get and do things however I managed to do some haircuts and a colour of Abby. Amelia went and spent a few nights up in Port Sorell and we had a nice time of no screaming and fighting which was lovely for a few days!

The girls are boxing each other in this picture, the funny thing was how they complained about having a sore shoulder from doing the boxing the next day!

On Sunday after church Ryan and I drove up with Charlotte and Will and pitched out tent out the front of the Crossin's house and had a cushy camping experience! All the mod cons of staying at home but the opportunity to sleep in rough in the tent! On the Monday Ryan went to work with Rob and they were away for the whole day. We managed to fill in the day with a trip to the pool at Shearwater, a trip to the bluff for a play and a monkey around! And a trip to the supermarket to purchase some essential BBQ items for the Australia Day BBQ! On the Monday evening the grownups (Rob, Coral, Ryan and I) went out to dinner at a place in Devenport for Chinese. We had a banquet and it was nice to share different meals and try different things. Must say a BIG thankyou to Zoe who was the babysitter for the night and she did a great job as we came home to nearly all kids all asleep tucked up in their beds. Charlotte and Zoe were having a cuddle on the couch and watching a movie.

Charlotte enjoying the sun shine!

Amelia and I on the snowboard thing!

Coral and Will having a swing!

On the Australia day we crashed the Devenport wards Australia day activity at Hawley Beach which was great. The sun was a little overcast to start the day but by 10 it was lovely. Amelia and Will enjoyed the sun, sand and saltwater, Charlotte enjoyed hanging out in her sunshelter keeping pout of the hot sun! We took a bucket and shovel and rake for Will who enjoyed digging and helping Dad make castles. Their was cricket, volleyball and plenty of running around. For lunch we cooked the traditional BBQ snags, burgers and kebabs with lots of sauce and bread!

I loved this photo of Bishop Crossin, the hat with the tee shirt is priceless!

After a busy day we came back to the Crossin's and crashed and cleaned up. I had a meeting to go to at the church which started at 7 but had to be seated by 6.30 so Rob and I went together and Ryan came through with the kids around 9 to pick me up and after a quick stop at the supermarket for some  basics we travelled home and got in around 11. Everyone was soooo tiered and the kids fell asleep on the way down, which was nice for Ryan and I as we had a chance to actually talk! This morning Amelia slept in till nearly 9 which is amazing just wish Will would have!

Good times.

Yesterday as it was sooo hot we got the clam out and had a paddle. As we are still quartantined we thought this was the next best option. The kids had a great time! We seem to have a stack of butterflies in our garden at the moment so I told the kids that next time I am at the shop I am going to get them a butterfly catcher as last night they were trying to catch them with glasses!

I love this photo as you would assume that he was freaking out as the water was cold BUT in fact their is no water in it. Just proves he is a drama queen/king!

Another thing we did a few weeks ago was go for a drive to Westburt for some great ice cream at Andy's. Will was a great poser for the camera!

CHICKENPOX take 2

Well it has been Charlotte's turn to pick up the dreaded germ of chickenpox! And boy did she pick it up bad! She was covered from head to toe and looked like she was in so much pain! The first few days were not too bad BUT that was lulling us into a false secuirty as she has had it really bad! she has been crying alot as she is so sore from it with them everywhere, even those places that we wont mention! On the Monday I even called the Dr to come and do a homevisit as she was really bad and even vomited early hours on Monday. He checked her out and said that she was doing ok and that she wasn't suffering from any comlications from it, thank goodness! As I sit and right this she is still pretty bad as she has some sore on her bottom that just wont heal well, doesn't help that she is in nappies all day! We are treating them with antiseptic and creams and have our fingers crossed that they don't go into ulcers or anything.

This photo was taken a few days into the chickenpox and I must say that this is a good photo compared to what she did look loike trhe few days before!
We have been worried as Will has had a few spots but we are not sure if it is chickenpox or mozzie bite or heat rash, so as a result he has been in quarantine as well, just in case!

The Things they do!

The other day we were hanging out and this is what these two little monkeys decided to do!!!!!!!!

They thought they were really funny ! Will kept saying booby but I think he actually looks like he is having a baby in this picture! It's amazing what things they get up to!

Happy New Year!

Well it has been a while since I wrote something here, first I will write about our New Years, seems sooooo long ago! We were luck to have a visit from famil again this year. We had the Crossin's and the Horne family joining us this year. It was good afternoon evening with just sitting around hanging out and catching up with all the goss. The little ones had a great time, watching The Wiggles and just running around non stop as well as bouncing on the trampoline. It was a very warm night which was great a big change from last year as it was very cold.

We had a BBQ and then at around 9.30 we had our first lights display, we brought some fireworks and let some off for the little ones to enjoy.

We also got to see the ones at Royal Park that went off around the same time. At midnight we let the rest of the fireworks off and their was again lots of ohhhs and ahhs as they looked pretty, some however did fizz but overall they were not too bad. Again our firebugs enjoyed playing with them and setting them off and trying different combos of colour. Unfortunately this will be the last time we may have fireworks as the governement has banned over the counter sales and you now need permits to buy even the basic ones that don't bang but just have lots of colour. So just after midnight the troops ventured off to bed, however I was a bit pumped so after sitting up talking to Ryan and Rob we didn't venture into bed until 3.30!!! And then we were up again at 8 when the kiddies woke! We had a yummy breakfast of bacon and eggs and pancakes cooked on the BBQ and then we sat around and enjoyed the lovely weather. After Breakfast, which really we should have called brunch we had a play on the wii then got dressed to go to the Gorge for a lovely swim.

Charlotte enjoyed getting a chance to use her new sunshade and rested, as it would have been too cold for her to get into the water and she would have screamed the whole of Launceston down! So after a refreshing swim we said goodbye to our extended family as they travelled back to Devenport and we came home to just sit around and chill, think the lack of sleep finally started to catch up!
