William has been corrupted by his father to follow Carlton, much to my disgust. We are looking at the idea of joining him up next year in auskick but just trying to find a time on a Saturday could be the problem! So in getting him ready to be a top footy player I found this on the auskick website and wondered what he would look like as a tough footy player!

A Trip to the Bakery
Yesterday William's kinder class went on a walking trip to the local Postoffice and Bakery. His teacher Kate had rang me a few weeks earlier asking if I could do parent help which of course I said no problems, as I knew she wanted me to come along with my camera and be the photographer for the trip!
So once the kiddies had eaten some fruit they rugged up in hats, coats and gloves and lined up in pairs and took off on their adventure!
The walked down the hill and the first stop was the Post Office where they each were given a letter in which they had written their name on and inside was a message written but their teacher. Each of the children paid their 60 cents and got a stamp and with a little help attached it to their envelop. Once they all had attached a stamp they then posted their letter in a mail box outside!
Next item on the agenda was a trip inside the bakery where they met Tony the baker! Tony was great and showed the kids how they make bread and told us how early he gets up each morning to bake the bread so we can have it fresh for our breakfast!
The kids were then showed how they make biscuits using a machine to roll out the dough and then Tony cut a ginger bread man out.
Next the bakers iced a cupcake and each of the children got to chose a decoration for a cupcake, the kids thought that this was great and once they had their photo taken they had to put it in a bag and carry it up the hill where they stopped half way and sat and had their morning tea.
It was a great day, and even though it was cold I think by the time we got back to school we were a little warmer, thanks to some great warm ovens in the bakery!

Follow Up Yes he made it Home!
Ok so this is a very late blog post BUT a follow up on Ryan and the ash cloud issues!
Well after an extra night spent in Melbourne he managed to get a flight home! Thanks Virgin for starting to fly out of Melbourne at lunch time as Ryan's plane was the first one to arrive from Melbourne after the ash cloud delays! I thought seeing that he had heaps of free time at the Melbourne airport he had better coff up some Krispy Kremes for a well deserving wife, which he came through with, thanks honey they were yummmmmmm!
So now that the family is all home we have no future plans to fly any where soon and I must say I have not heard much more about the dreaded ash cloud so things must be good and the ash has managed to disperse. I know Ryan spoke to a couple of people when he flew from Sydney to Melbourne the day before and they had got stuck in some interesting places waiting due to ash cloud, one guy was saying he was stuck in Mexico where they had no air conditioners in the airport and it was stinking hot so we should feel lucky that we didn't have any of those conditions!
